Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic

Many people born with a heart defect (congenital heart disease or CHD) had heart surgery during childhood. Because of possible long-term complications, they need regular evaluations throughout life. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, in conjunction with Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin, runs the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic — and the only clinic of its kind in Wisconsin — to provide ongoing diagnosis and treatment for adults with CHD, including cases first discovered in adulthood.

Arrhythmia Clinic

This clinic provides evaluation and treatment for patients with arrhythmias (heart rhythm problems). In this clinic, physicians see patients with diagnosed arrhythmias and discuss treatment options. Patients who are candidates for implantable defibrillators, pacemakers and cardiac resynchronization devices (to treat heart failure) are also seen in the clinic.

Heart Failure Clinic

An important part of a successful heart transplant is the quality of care before and after a patient’s surgery. The Heart Failure Clinic provides vital care for patients who may become transplant candidates.

Valvular Disease Clinic

Patients with valvular disease receive the latest diagnostic and treatment options in the Valvular Disease Clinic. No other healthcare facility in the area has a clinic dedicated to evaluating and managing the complete range of valvular disease, including acute surgical cases as well as chronic, long-term valvular disease.
