Breast Cancer Program
Comprehensive and compassionate care
From the most sophisticated diagnostic technology to state-of-the-science treatment, women find comprehensive breast care through Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Breast Cancer Program. We provide care in a supportive environment, and are dedicated to guiding you throughout your treatment.
Caring for the Individual Woman
No two women are alike. Every woman in the Breast Cancer Program receives care and treatment tailored to her particular situation.
Our interdisciplinary team of experts includes breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, imaging specialists, pathologists and reconstructive surgeons. These physicians collaborate to develop individual treatment plans for every patient. |
|
Breast cancer professionals continue to recognize the value of the breast self-exam as an important part of early cancer detection.
|
The Breast Cancer Program, like each of our cancer programs, includes a hub nurse coordinator, working closely with a journey coordinator, makes sure patients get all the appointments, tests, treatments, services and support they need. Patients benefit from completely coordinated treatment and a seamless care experience.
The Breast Cancer Program is one of 13 disease-specific programs at the Clinical Cancer Center. |
|
The Clinical Cancer Center's hub model builds the entire care experience around patients. Dedicated program coordinators answer questions, address concerns, coordinate treatment and help you along in your journey.
|
The program also includes a breast cancer nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialists who focus on the needs of women with breast cancer, a board-certified genetics counselor, and a registered dietitian and social worker who specialize in helping cancer patients.
The entire caregiver team works together to make sure every patient receives all the care, treatment and support they need. Learn more about our exceptional staff.
Outcomes That Exceed National StandardsThe members of the Breast Cancer Program have made a strong commitment to providing the best quality care. Our standard of care is to offer breast conservation to our patients whenever this approach is reasonable and appropriate.
- The Breast Cancer Program has achieved a breast conservation rate that is above the national average.
- At the same time, our survival rates consistently exceed national statistics.

In addition to screening mammograms, the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin Breast Care Center offers comprehensive diagnostic mammography, 3-D imaging with ultrasound and MRI studies to better identify suspicious findings.
