Froedtert Hospital Foundation Awards Fellowships

Milwaukee, WI (July 2, 2009) – The Froedtert Hospital Foundation recently awarded fellowships to four physicians who have completed residency training and are pursuing further specialization. Fellowships are established by donors at Froedtert Hospital.

The Daniel M. Soref Fellowship for Clinical Neuroscience, a full-time appointment in the Department of Neurology, is renewed to Thomas Wolfe, M.D., who graduated from Marquette University in 1998 and completed his Medical Doctorate at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2003. Dr. Wolfe also completed his internship (Internal Medicine, 2004) and his residency (Neurology, 2007) at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Also, in 2007, Dr. Wolfe was a Medical College Fellow training in Neurocritical Care and Interventional Neurology.

The Donald J. Schuenke Cancer Fellowship, a full-time appointment at the Department of Medicine, Division of Neoplastic Diseases, is awarded to Ben George, M.D. Dr. George graduated and completed his Medical Doctorate in Kerala, India, in 1998. Dr. George completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in 2007 and was a Hematology-Oncology Fellow there from 2007 through this year.

The Mazie Froedtert Willms & Sue Froedtert Cancer Fellowship, a full-time appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Neoplastic Diseases, is awarded to Veerpal Singh, M.D., who graduated from Meerut University / Santosh Medical College, India, in 2002 where he also completed his internship training. Dr. Singh completed his residency at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center at Evanston in 2007. Dr. Singh was a Research Fellow at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (2007-2008) and is a Hematology-Oncology Fellow (2008-2011) at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

The Women’s Sports Medicine Fellowship, a full-time appointment in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Women’s Sports Medicine Program, is awarded to Megan L. Noon, M.D. Dr. Noon graduated and received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 2005. Dr. Noon recently completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from the University of Missouri-Columbia in June 2009.
