Together, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin form the only academic medical center in eastern Wisconsin. Academic medical centers are partnerships between a medical school and its affiliated teaching hospitals and clinics.

Medical College of Wisconsin physicians are specialists and sub-specialists, which means they have the extensive training, experience and expertise to provide advanced care. They work together in teams to provide what is called "multidisciplinary" care. This is especially important for complex diseases so experts in each facet of treatment can work together to design the optimal care plan.
